The Infra red transmitter and receiver set has evolved over many years to become one of the most powerful systems on the market today. This kit from MTA Corse can be used in many different applications including Ducati and Ferrari specific applications.
Overview
Each set has a unique 16bit code to ensure a minimum of interference from other equipment as well as ensuring that the vehicle only accepts signals transmitted by your ‘pit-wall’ transmitter.
Using the unique coding, any number of vehicles may be equipped with the same code, enabling them all to receive signals from one transmitter.
The system comprises of two devices, the DK-TX is a ‘road side’ transmitter able to send an infra red signal up to 25meters, and the DK-RX is a vehicle mounted reception device which outputs a switched signal to trigger a lap timing system within the vehicle.
When a valid coded signal is received a signal is generated to produce a square edged ‘blip’ from 0 volts up to 5v and then back down to 0 volts once the transmitter is out of range.
Using this method it is possible to activate any lap timing systems which need ‘leading edge’ input activation.
